Bingo !!!!!
I cleaned the plate and rubbed some chalk over it , then shone a light from
the farside and 2.21 was just legible
Thanks Bruce.

Subject: Re: [C320-list] Gearbox Reduction

Colin;
I'm actually down on the boat finishing up my 12 year service. I cleaned up
the bell housing and the transmission and repainted it. On my inspection
plate on the bell housing the word Ratio is cast into the part. Right after
that 2.21 is very lightly stamped onto the part. If I had not just cleaned
it all up and painted it I doubt it would have been readable.
Best,
Bruce
