[C320-list] Heat exchanger core gaskets

I pulled the heat exchanger core and had it cleaned 3gm30f yeu). I purchased new gaskets for both ends. The problem is the new bar gaskets that fit between 2 rows of tubes are longer and fatter than the old bar gaskets. Am I supposed to trim the new gaskets? Anyone had this issue? The main round gaskets and the bar gaskets came out definitely as two separate gaskets (not the single round gasket with the bar already included).
