[C320-list] Pad Eye on mast

I'd like to install a mast pad eye for a whisker pole. Two questions, how far up the mast (say from the deck) should it be for a for a factory 125 genoa? And The big question; I have in-mast furling so if I drill holes in the front of the mast, will I hit any furler parts inside the mast?

The hull number is 1146, it is a 2008 MarK II.
