Hi Alan,
I'm sticking with 16K ... with the hot summers we've had the last few years it has been great to cool the boat down after a sail in under 30 minutes.  I don't know about your slip, but our seems 15 degrees warmer than the lake ... especially after docking, tying lines and getting the sail cover on.

Are you coming to Strictly Sail in Chicago in a couple of weeks?  We're staying at the Embassy Suites ... it is walking distance from Navy pier and we'll have a Catalina reception Saturday night.  I think it is officially sponsored by Catalina Fleet 21 and the LMCA is invited.  As far as I know, every Catalina owner is invited.  You just can't get in on the door prizes if you are not a member of one of these.  Lots of fun.  Sharon Day from Catalina attends. In year's past Frank Butler comes, too.  Last year he had bronchitis and couldn't attend.  www.catfleet21.org has the information ... If still available, you can get a room for $109 a night.  Mention the Catalina group when you make the reservation.

We can talk A/C then if you like.  I have more pictures I can send you (off list) if you like.

Stay warm .... it finally got above 32 today.  That -14F was no fun on Monday and Tuesday!  It actually felt warm.

As has been said about many things, size matters (lol).  I am finishing up the design of my A/C system (thank you to Warren Updike and Steve Wash for details and pictures of their installs).  I am considering either a 12K BTU or 16K BTU, but am concerned that 16K is too much cooling capacity for Michigan and will result in short cycling of the unit.  I am polling the forum as to what size cooling you have installed and where you are located.  As a starting point, Steve has 16K in Northern Indiana and Warren has 12K in the Chesapeake.   Thank you.
