[C320-list] More on Dinette Table

There is always the chance that it is jammed of course but my experience is that it takes exactly the right motion to get it up or down.  Anything slightly less than true and it won't budge.

What I've found that works very reliably is this.  Ensure that you've loosened the knurled knob on the post housing.  Sit on the table facing port with one of your legs on each side of the mast compression post. Skooch yourself so that your butt is right above the table post.  Lightly bounce yourself.  Works every time for me.  Anything else that I try to do to get it up or down and it acts completely frozen.  I think the challenge is that there is a strong "spring" or whatever it is and it tends to push the male part of the post cockeyed against the female part.  Once that happens, it's jammed.  When you sit on it, you are directly above with force precisely vertical and that frees it.  Plus your weight nicely counterbalances the upward force with very little effort.

I hope this works for you as well as it has worked for me.

Subject: [C320-list] More on Dinette Table

My table is about 6 inches above the 'down' position to be used as a bed. I
can't get it up or down. I have tried spraying Sailcote down the shaft
(with the table top removed) but nothing has worked. I'm about to remove
the base from the floor so I can remove the entire post. Anyone have any
advise for this problem? What is jambed and how do I fix it?
Thanks.
