FYI, our boat (#947) has the clip for the lazarette cover. I don't see a 
need for it unless underway in choppy water.

As for the refrigerator lids, years ago (after being hit on the head) I put 
a deadeye on the bulkhead over the refrigerator and made up a short bungee 
cord that connects the deadeye to the latch on the lid. I connect the bungee 
as needed. Low tech but works fine.

Someone mentioned putting hinges on the other (outboard) lid. I wouldn't do 
that because the lid would open only until it hit the bottom of the cabinet 
and would greatly restrict access to the refrigerator.

Just out of curiosity, does your boat have the cable with the clip on it
to hold the seat / lid open?
