Two tips -

1/ Vaseline will perish rubber, dont use it!

2/ If it is the rubber seal and not the caulking of frame to hull, then an alternative that works very well, looks great and is SO much easier (and way less costly) to fit than the original Lewmar seals is to use sSijkkaflex adhesibve sealnt to ‘glue’ into the corner of the frame, a standard round section rubber gasket (the ends are joined with superglue)

This cost me about $2 a porthole, and has the advantage that they are so quick and easy and cheap to replace you can renew the seasl every few years.
