Mike,
The most important thing when buying new sails is to know the quality of the material being used. Performance Cruise Dacron may sound very racy, but in reality is the lowest quality Dacron & will not take a long time to stretch out. It is worth more in the long run to pay a little more for a better material that will last longer.
Here is an article that will educate you.

On the subject of new sails (jib and main), do any of the C320 owners on
this list have any experience with lower cost sails from Catalinaowners.com
(they are made by Doyle, apparently in Florida), or NorthDirect (made in Sri
Lanka) that you can share.

Any other suggestions (good or less than good experiences in SF Bay area?

Thanks.

Hi all,
My Main is original on my '97 C320. While it is not shabby, it is baggy and
stretched. I was considering replacing it this year and when I mentioned it
to a fellow sailor (Hunter owner), he said I should consider doing away with
the full battened Main. Has anyone replace their Main with a more
traditional, non-battened main?

Fair Winds,
