[C320-list] Lewmar folding wheel

I can see if you were cruising with long distances between tacks or jibes, that might make sense but since I sail on an inland lake and have to change directions often, I've never seen any reason to fold the wheel while sailing. It would be really unhandy when turning the wheel very far.

Dear fellow sailors,
I can see the real advantage of the folding wheel at the dock to facilitate easy
movement when preparing for a sail or to stow gear after sailing. However, I
was wondering when sailing whether you effectively use the wheel while in a
folded configurations.

Installing a folding wheel was my first upgrade to my # 245 when we got it last
year. I think it came with a hub for the straight shaft, that was needed to
replace the tapered shaft hub that the wheel came with installed. Was not
difficult. ....We have a slip that we back into, and only board from the stern.
This new wheel is a big improvement for getting around the binnacle. If I could
do it over, I would probably get the 38 in wheel, or even the 36. My arms are
long enough to reach that far in when sitting on the seat outboard of the helm
seat directly behind the wheel....Joe n Beth
