You obviously ain't from around hea'. :)
Bay of Fundy tidal range can run in excess of 50 feet between High and Low
tides.
The Boston area runs ~10 feet between High and low tide and we use 30' dock
lines.
So, If I were cruising northern Maine, I'd consider at least 100' on board.
