[C320-list] Cutlass bearing

The cutlass bearing is working its way out of the strut. I have several questions.

Boat is 1997 hull number 424

1. It is worn so I was thinking of replacing it. Anyone knew the part number? 

2. The shaft is one inch brass. It looks like I have to drop the rudder to get the shalt out. Is this correct ? 

3. I saw a tool to take the bearing out without removing the shaft.  Has anyone taken this approach? 

4. One gentleman from the club said the shaft may need to be replaced. Why would he make such a statement ? 

5. The set screws (2) are missing and that is why the bearing is exiting the strut. Any idea what are the sizes?
