[C320-list] Anybody replaced their forestay?

Just thinking a bit out loud here, but maybe trying a metal plumbers snake
that you straighten out.

By itself, I think you'd just have the same problem, so we're trying to find
something that will "center" the snake wire but still allow passing through
those joints. Think of something like an arrowhead or some sort of cone at
the tip that will flex and pass through the holes. First thing I'd try is
to bend a couple inches of the end of the snake back a bit and make a bit of
a U shape at the end. I would be careful that you shape it so that it will
pull back through the restrictions as well without getting caught like a
barb. I'd bet with a pair of pliers and a little shaping you can get a
shape that will center well enough to ride past those ridges where the
sections are joined.

Subject: [C320-list] Anybody replaced their forestay?

By which I mean, did you do it, rather thn ahve it done professionally?
I ask because I have had a problem with the feed line I left through the
furling foil to draw the new forestay back through - it broke!

So now I have to try and feed a new forestay wire through the furler and of
course it doesnt want to go due to the connecting sections that have only a
narrow hole through them but the cable wont center up to them!

Really at my wits end now and grateful for any ideas

Thanks
