Martin,
My boat came with a float system that displays the level on a gage in the head.
What I have found to be the best indicator of tank level is the toilet clean water level.
The water level slowly leaks down, if the tank is less than approx. 85% full. If the
Toilet level remains constant....... I pump next opportunity to do so.
The gage confirms the toilet observation.  This only works because the tank is lower than
The toilet...
