[C320-list] Waste Tank

I recently read that you can use an electronic stud finder to measure the water level on "plastic" holding and water tanks. Haven't tried it yet but intent to next time I'm on the boat. Give it a try.

The only way that I've found to check my waste tank is to remove the top
hose and unscrew the fitting to peek in. There has got to be a better way
to do this without resorting to an expensive and time consuming
installation of an electronic indicator.
  What have others done?
