Scott,

I installed a wash down pump a couple of years ago. I can't remember the GPM, but I'll find out and let you know. I think it was a 3.3 GPM, but I will confirm. It works great. I installed the pump under my head sink and plumbed the intake hose with a tee to the head sink drain hose (below the waterline) so I didn't need to install another through hull. This also allows me to run fresh water through it by closing the head sink drain through hull and filling up the sink with fresh water and using that as a reservoir. It works really slick.

I think I wired it to the same circuit as the shower sump drain, installed a separate in/off switch inside the head cabinet, and just placed an in line fuse in that circuit to protect the wiring and pump.

I routed my wash down hose to the anchor locker and installed a quick connect valve there for my hose and spray nozzle.

Overall it is a nice set up. It makes it easy to wash down the anchor at retrieval with salt water and I can even hose down the deck of the boat on a hot day to cool it off and clean it with fresh water from the sink. It is amazing how much cooling occurred from the wash water evaporating on the deck.

I may have some pictures of my installation on the owners photos on our C320IA website.

I know some of you have been through this. Can you give me some idea as to what kind of pump you used (GPM and PSI ratings would be great). And did anyone install a new thruhull for this? The projects on the site all seem to involve teeing into the head intake thruhull but I'd prefer to avoid the resistance of a long hose run, especially through the battery compartment. Also, what is the best location and connector for the hose in the anchor well?
