That should work. I have two suggestions: 1. use thickened or ‘filled’ epoxy. 2. wax the threads of the screws so that you can remove them without breaking out the repair epoxy.

Has anyone had the screws for the icebox lid break free from the Corian 
worksurface.  If yes, how did you fix it please?

I am currently planning to fill the holes with epoxy and while the epoxy is 
still setting, put the back screws in.  They will be located by the hinges 
attached to the closed icebox lid.

Does that seem a reasonable approach?
