[C320-list] Fwd: Wheel Steering Safety Notice

Catalina factory and the mfgrs that supply the equipment we typically have on our boats *are* very concerned doing the right thing. They're not selling millions of units and customer opinion is everything. I wouldn't ever lump them into the same bucket with car dealers. Good luck finding companies in other industries that back their products as well as companies like Garhaurer, etc.

This particular problem in my opinion isn't an Edson problem. This device is meant to be installed in a protected space where seawater should not be getting to. If you allow salt water in, the metal can corrode. It ain't their fault, period. They are just notifying you that this has happened in some cases and to inspect it to be sure you're not seeing a leak also. To me, this is good customer service to be letting you know that there are additional places you should keep an eye on. Ours is dry as a bone today, but that could change as the boat ages and I appreciate knowing I'll need to check this from time to time.

Cheers!
-Jeff

I'm glad you are so trusting that manufacturers have the customers best interest in mind when they are really thinking profits.
