[C320-list] Need advice--raw water anti-siphon valve

The newer boats have this U shaped Anti-siphon valve located high up on a in the large Port Side locker on the outside wall. I cannot imagine you would want that removed for the safety of your engine, but it would be good to know for sure.

Subject: [C320-list] Need advice--raw water anti-siphon valve

I have a 1995 C320 with a Perkins engine. At some point in the past the raw water anti-siphon valve was removed. From the Catalina owner's manual it appears the valve was installed by the factory in the engine compartment on the port side. At that location it doesn't look like it would be much above the waterline, but I don't have an exact measurement. I am trying to find out if owner's of boats with Perkins engines have had problem with valve leakage or other issues and may have re-routed the valve to a new location, or perhaps abandoned it altogether. Please help...
Thanks. Dave
