Daryl, I always wait and change the impeller in the Spring rather than have it sit in the pump all crunched up through Winter.

Thanks. I was afraid of that. I always carry spares. Since this is my first off-season with Believe, I'll change the impeller before launching in the Spring. On my last boat, I had to replace the impeller under way in heavy weather. It took me ~5 minutes. Hopefully I won't have to do that again if I check the impeller annually.

Unfortunately, it may not fit without modifying the front engine cover. The cover sits very close to the bottom pulley today. Close enough in fact that adding 3/4" sound insulation will just about touch the bottom edge of the central engine pulley.

I decided instead to adopt a pre-emptive approach to the problem. Replace the impeller every year and keep several spares. Inspect the raw water strainer regularly under way and before each trip out.

But, always interested in what you discover...

I just came across this kit for fixing the annoying inaccessible raw water impeller on our Yanmar 3GM30F engines.

TMarin Seawater Pump Rotator Kit

Seems like a good upgrade. However, I can't find any pricing or US distributor information. Anyone have any experience with this product?
