Re: Fridge Gasket Material
You might want to try McMaster-Car part number 8694K145 to replace your fridge gasket. Someone posted it a couple of years ago and I kept it for future reference.

Wish I could join you. Sounds like a lot of fun.

What is your Phrf number? Do you have fin or wing keel?

On May 12, I will be racing Windy City from Naples overnight into Key West.

First of all, I need one more crew member- wanna come?  Just fly into ft
Myers

Secondly, I am considering adding a cruising Spinniker. Not sure if it's
worth the hit on my Phrf number??

Has anyone had any experience with this? And is anyone nearby that would
like to lend me their cruising spinnaker for this race?

Thanks again!

Ted,

I have been told the this strip here:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#93085K16

is the right stuff. I have not yet done the job but had the page
bookmarked from a previous discussion. the 3/4 x 9/16 measurements were
what was being passed around. The old discussion references "style 9"
from the McMaster Carr catalog but they must have changed their
inventory because it is a different style now. If you go by the
measurements above it should work. Hopefully someone who has bought this
stuff will chime in.

I couldn't find it on Catalina Direct.

I replaced our gaskets 4 years ago with material from McMasterCarr. Can't
tell you the size that I got but it was very close to the gasket that was
there. It is a black gasket, by the way. Still working.

After shopping around a bit, I ended up contacting the parts department
at Catalina.  They had me send in a picture of the gasket material from
my boat, since they have used several different types over the years.
They were able to send me the correct material right away.  It was $1.85
/ foot when I bought it last June.

Lisa Cayce is who I worked with at Catalina.  Email
parts at catalinayachts.com.

Our gaskets lost the sticky on them at one point.  We cleaned them and used
3M high tack double stick tape and put them back on.  I would not have done
this if the gaskets themselves were not still in great shape.
