I can answer as I just calibrated new instruments recently and am on Commitment working on a new project.
The latter is 1.5'
I initially set at 2.5 and grounded so I reset it while I was on the bottom because I have also measured the depth from the actual waterline while on the hard. 4'6" on a 2001 wing keel. Now my sounder reads precisely.
