When replacing the anchor light it would be advantageous to replace with the
new high intensity low amperage LED replacement lamps. You can purchase
them art West Marine or on Amazon. It bulb base is bayonet.

It's been a while, but I've replaced the Masthead and Foredeck lights on my
C320 with LED lights.Basically, you can take the old bulb out and look at
the model code on the bulb. Then you can contact any of the web LED
companies with the model number and they can work with you with the options.
On my 320, the Masthead light was a Festoon Bayonet mount like this:

contacts and coat the contacts with Dielectric grease so you don't have
intermittent operation due to corrosion.

I will say that I have a 1996 model as well, and when I did that job a
few years back, I ended up needing to replace the entire fixture, as the
old one was severely dry-rotted and cracked from sun exposure. I'd
advise buying a new fixture and replacing it only if necessary while
you're up there. Keep it in the package and then you can return it if
not needed. Be aware that Catalina did not leave much slack in the wires
inside the mast. We had a devil of a time getting it swapped out.
Fortunately for me, I had the yard owner put me up there with his aerial
bucket instead of going up in a chair.

1. My depth indicator gets wacky while underway. It reads the correct depth
for a while then the word "Depth" starts flashing and the numbers either
lock in their last correct reading or start jumping all over the place. This
just started within the last month or so. Any suggestions?
2. Auto pilot has become noisy when in operation. It seems that the noise is
from the wheel drive unit on the steering wheel or from the "motor tube" on
the back of the wheel drive ring. Is there some way to get into these parts
for lubrication?
