I agree with with Doug you will love sailing on the Chesapeake. I keep my boat at Bert Jabins on Back Creek in Annapolis and like Doug said it is a top notch yard.

There are several places in Annapolis and like someone else said they are not inexpensive. The further you move away from Annapolis prices drop significantly places like Herrington Harbor (North and South) and in Galesville to name a few.

I like being in Annapolis there is always something to do.

I live in Springfield VA (just south of DC) and it takes me about 55 minutes to get to the boat. There are some advantages to being on Back Creek when driving to Annapolis because it is the first exit off HWY 50. This cuts out some traffic you run into when heading into Annapolis during the peak summer period.

Not sure if you are looking at being on Spa Creek in downtown Annapolis or just Annapolis in general. I prefer to be on Back Creek. I find the Spa Creek locations to be cramped and parking is always at a premium. I enjoy not having to deal with the summer traffic and tourist in downtown Annapolis when just trying to get to the boat.

Bert Jabins is well run and the docks and facilities are well maintained. It is a full service yard with all the major services locked on the yard or just up road. The location also offers good shelter from storms. You are also close to West Marine and Fawcett's Marine Supply. There is a great hardware store and a Giant Grocery store.

Just down the road from Bert Jabins on Back Creek is Port of Annapolis another good location and it is also a full service yard. They have a pool and some picnic facilities.

If you would like more info let me.

Hello Onat,

Where will your home be located - or are you liveaboards? Those of us
who are locals may have some suggestions that may be near to your home.

You'll LOVE sailing on the Chesapeake Bay! Annapolis is definitely the
place to be, especially for sailors. However, keep in mind that it is
one of the MOST expensive places on the Chesapeake because of that very
reason. I do not have a specific recommendation because I keep my boat
about 20 miles north of Annapolis.

In addition to downtown Annapolis locations, also consider marinas on
South River, which is just a 10 minute drive from DownTown and may be
more reasonably priced.

The only marina I've had any experience with in Annapolis is Bert
Jabin's (where my boat was when I bought her) and they are top notch.
The only down side to Jabins is that it is not in Downtown Annapolis,
however, you can get over there via the water taxi if you want. Plenty
of services all in house and you can be out on the bay in minutes.
