Thanks for this Jeff. You just confirm my thoughts and Rod's experience that the there needs to be a means of taking the bag out the sail when reefed. I had a Neil Pryde sail on my previous Beneteau that had a foam luff but had not heard of using rope to accomplish the same thing.  Would you know the size of rope they used?  1/2 or 5/8 perhaps?
