[C320-list] Dining Table Modification

I just built a smaller top out of a pre-made one from home Depot. I finished it to look very much like the existing wood in the cabin. I removed the factory top and replaced it with the smaller one. I also pot a piece of 2x4 under the stand (in the bilge area) and that raised the top enough to make access to the dinette much easier.

Skippers,  has anyone modified the configuration of the dining table to provide a easier access to the stbd seats.  I would like to trim a few inches off the ends but don't want to end up with some ugly plywood edges to conceal.  All ideas or suggestions appreciated.  Thanks!
