Below please find the response to my inquiry from Catalina Yachts. I have
yet to recover from getting a direct response from DG himself. You can't buy
advertising like that.

 

Mr. Amirault,

    The method for filling the void recommended by the contractor is what we
would have recommended . 

This should leave only two small holes to repair.

Regarding the need for the repair, this is your call. If there were no glass
behind the gel coat it probably would have broken through by now. 

I would suggest repairing it by filling as recommended. If it should break
the surface in the future it will be a much more expensive repair.
