[C320-list] Do you have to remove rudder to remove prop-shaft?

When I bought my boat my mechanic was convinced that the rudder needed
to be dropped. I paid the extra labor and yard charges for that. Later
on, via this list, I have heard that as long as you pull the cutlass
bearing, the shaft should just slip past the rudder. I have not seen
this and cannot confirm it personally.
