Hello Warren;

I previously had a C30 which I purchased from an owner after it was 4 years
old. When I removed the bottom paint I found an array of blisters. It took
a long time to drill each one, fill with epoxy and sand smooth. I decided
to apply four layers of West Systems epoxy barrier coat and then bottom.
That problem never showed up again. Moving ahead 10 years later I sold the
C30 and purchased the C 320 as second owner. The bottom paint needed to be
removed. Once removed the hull surface was absolutely clean, no blisters.
Unlike the C30 the C320's had a vinyl ester final layer on the hulls which
is more resistant to water absorption and blister formation. Nevertheless,
with a clean hull surface, I decided to barrier coat with Micron. I
applied Four layers. It was not that difficult to apply and easy to get a
smooth finish. Ten years later hull surface is pristine. I use an ablative
Petite Hydrocoat . I think it was a good investment.
