[C320-list] Knot Meter Transducer Cabin Location Question

Mine is also under the board just forward of the compression post. Since I like to remove the transducer when we are away from Pleiades, I installed a ring pull in the board that matched the on in the bilge cover, removed the screws that were in the board and cut them so that when they were reinstalled, the did not bite into the stringers below the board any more. Now I can pop the board off and replace the transducer plug quickly instead of removing screws.
As an aside, I'm currently questioning the calibration of the transducer as boat speed always reads less then the GPS SOG, both with and against the tidal flow. The transponder is clean because we remove it when not in use and the paddle wheel spins freely. I've read how to calibrate it with the SOG when tide is slack, but haven't had a point to attempt re-calibration yet. I seem to remember that it read more accurately when I first purchased Pleiades 7 years ago. Has anyone experienced the speedo becoming less accurate over time? I'm wondering if the unit lost it's settings due to an electrical glitch.Curious if anyone else has an issue like this.

Likewise, I am amazed at all the different locations.

Mine is under the short (maybe 18" long) center piece of cabin sole just
forward of the mast compression post.  Need to remove 4 screws but access
to the bilge compartment where both depth and speed transducers are located
is wide open.
