[C320-list] How fast have you sailed

The GPS showed I hit 8.5 knots on my very first day sailing my 320, from the
shipyard where she had some work done after I bought her, to her new slip.
The winds were about 15-18 knots on the beam, and I was in flat water in the
ICW east of New Orleans flying an ancient main and about a 110% jib. But I
believe at least 1-2 knots of that was current, because even with a new 135%
jib, I've never gotten her above 7.2 knots since.

Ted,

Multiply knots by 1.15 to get MPH. 7.4 knots is equal to 8.51 MPH. My top
speed thus far is 7.5 knots in 15 knots of true wind speed. According to the
polar diagram the Catalina 320 can go 8.5 knots in 20 knots of true wind
speed sailing 135 degrees off the wind.

could sail that fast. We headed up on the puffs, then fell off to the beam
reach and the boat flattened out and that's when we got the good speed.
Anyone get their 320 over 10mph?
