Hi Sara,
I took the instructions literally and mounted the sensor inside the Port Settee locker, which is as close to the center line, water line as I could figure. Make sure to mount it forward enough to get away from any battery cabling if you mount it there.I've had great success with it mounted there... Except:My Son and I were sailing up the Bay on a reach. We were gonna be on the tack for a long time so after a while I decided to do some small maintenance projects that had been on my list down below. I set the autopilot to steer by wind angle while my Son was in the cockpit.I popped below and grabbed my tool bag from the V-berth, setting on the Port Settee right over the sensor.Wham! We did an auto 180 in about 3 seconds!Moral: Don't put a bunch of metal on top of the sensor! :)
After hearing where some of the others on the list mounted theirs with good results, I'm reconsidering relocating my sensor this winter.Easy enough with the Sea Talk NG plug system.
Good Luck!~g

I purchased a Raymarine wheeldrive EV 100 autopilot at the boat show and am considering locations for the three units.  Would love to hear where others have mounted the sensor, ACU and control unit. I’ve read that the sensor should be centerline and as low to the waterline as possible without magnetic interference. Also, I have space on my helmstation for the control unit between the knot meter and wind gauge. Would that be a suitable place? Thanks!
