Sara - This Spring I installed an EV100 autopilot, along with a new
Raymarine Axiom chartplotter.  My original autopilot had the electronic
compass located under the floorboard at the base of the steps, so I placed
the new one there.  Seems to be far enough away from the engine that I don't
get any interference.  The ECU was mounted to the side of the shelf below
the refrigeration system and just inside the access from the aft cabin.  As
part of the install, I purchased two new Navpods.  One has the chartplotter
and auto-pilot head.  The other kept the three existing wind, depth, and
speed instruments.  You can connect the new Stng network to the old ST1
network with a converter and it worked.

I don't know if your boat has a different engine module, but I had to move
the autopilot drive from starboard to the port side, and drop the engine
module down about 1 1/2" to get everything to fit.  Actually easier than I
expected.

Good Luck

I purchased a Raymarine wheeldrive EV 100 autopilot at the boat show and am
considering locations for the three units.  Would love to hear where others
have mounted the sensor, ACU and control unit. I?ve read that the sensor
should be centerline and as low to the waterline as possible without
magnetic interference. Also, I have space on my helmstation for the control
unit between the knot meter and wind gauge. Would that be a suitable place?
Thanks!
