[C320-list] Dinghy Davits

The cons I have heard of....  You/we all have to decide how important each is, of course.
1. Visibility aft. 2. Stern light visibility must be considered.2. Windage while sailing and at anchor in a blow3. Type of dinghy can matter.  Inflatable floor vs slatted vs.rigid
Like almost anything.... what matters to each person relates to how/when/where you use your boat.
For us we are considering davits for both dinghy storage and eventual solar mounting.  Admiral hates towing dinghy and I hate rolling it up.  We both do not like stowing in on the bow.  Fits nice on forward cabin hatch but you can't see over it sitting down under way.
Right now still gathering data.  Johnny 5 needs more input.

Scott,
I'm very close to pulling the trigger on dinghy davits myself, having homed
in on Gauher from past reviews here and considering Gauher's price compared
to others.

I'm looking at davits primarily for solar panel installation.  That said,
the only strike I have against Gauher's model is they won't customize the
davits, and I desire the vertical davit arms to be a slightly longer so
head will clear mounted solar panels when crossing the swim platform
through the transom.  However I think I can account for this through the
panel mounts.

I'm curious as what you see as the cons for davits.  Main thing I've read
is the weight can submerge the platform, aiding to muck build up on the top
side of the platform.  Since I don't plan on raising a dinghy on the
davits, I don't think this will be an issue for me.

Thanks.
