[C320-list] Inverters and Install Location

Hi All - thinking of adding an inverter to power a coffee maker and small microwave. If anyone has done this, a) what is your experience, is it worth the effort, b) where did you install the inverter, seems like you need direct access to it to plug in your devices and c) which inverter did you choose?
I have a Honda 2000 generator but pulling it out just for a quick zap in the micro usually ends up in not zapping in the micro.

Also, need to get new batteries, used interstate last time and lasted 9 years. Anything better out there?
