Keep the boat flat. Traveler eased, outhaul tight. Main halyard tight. Vang down until the main has a nice shape but don't close off the top batten. When you ease the traveler, the jib will probably backwind the main a little.

Jib cars all the way back. Weight on the rail. If all that doesn't work, its time to reef. Do you have your single line reefing set up?
