[C320-list] Fragile water lines

Bill, is the copper tubing supposed to be insulated right up to the Cold
Machine? Adler Barbour only supplied enough to cover the lines in the
fridge. At the other end, I have a plastic covering to prevent chafing.

Why sailors complain about prices:

When I first tried to replace the water line, I bought some sturdy 1/2-inch
PEX line from Home Depot: 25 feet for $8. It is just slightly larger than
Whale's 15 mm hose, so it wouldn't work. The price for 33 feet of Whale's
vastly inferior plastic hose: $54.

Doug, that chemistry angle is interesting on why the hose plugged. As I work
through the repairs on this boat, I'm always wondering whether something was
broken because of neglect or vandalism. It's hard to tell some of the time.

In any event, I can't complain too much because I bought the boat at a great
price, Even after I pay all the bills, the cost to me will be well under
market. And most of the breakable parts of the boat will be new.
