[C320-list] ST 4000+ Autopilot issue

After many years of fine service, this year, the clutch handle on my
autopilot strikes the instrument pod housing (below the wheel) when I try
to engage it.  Being limited that way, it seems not to engage fully, and
tends to pop up when I'm using the autopilot.  Nothing about the setup has
changed from the previous years.  I'm holding it down with a small line,
but would like to get it back to normal operating mode.  Any ideas?
