[C320-list] Composting head – has anyone done it?

For what it is worth,

One of those powerboat guys (he has a trawler) on my dock installed a composting toilet and has regretted it since he installed it. He said he will soon be uninstalling it. I do not remember all his issues, though I seem to recall smell and disposal being the two biggest. He is also a mechanical engineer, so I assume he installed correctly.

Again, I have no firsthand knowledge, but I know he is not pleased.

Hey Kevin,

I’ve been thinking along the same lines of switching over to a composting toilet but haven’t made any moves yet.  My wife is concerned about how realistic it is to separate liquid and solid waist during the “deposit phase” of using it.  Whatever you can do to document the installation, any issue you might have with it and an update or two once you’ve been using it for a while would be greatly appreciated!
