Joe,
When you say, "For racing in our area, I would think you would need the standard jib sail, a 100 as well as a 130 for the variable racing conditions", are you suggesting that the 'standard jib sail' is a 150? My boat kitty won't allow me to buy both a 130 and a 100 so am thinking about getting a 130 as I think I'd use this more than I would a 100 or 110. What are your thoughts on that?
Sara

Chris,
Thanks for the info. I'm thrilled to hear you can point higher with a 135 than a larger sail! Given that we won't see winds over 20 more than we will light wind I think a 130 or 135 seems like the best bet for me. Can I also ask which "slot" on the tracks you use for your jib sheets? In 25 knot winds the other day I moved the car back to the slot second from the aft end in an attempt to flatten out the sail some more.

Sara

We get wildly varying winds on Puget Sound and the boat just does not like sailing with a roller reef. Before I fork over the cash I thought I'd ask what size sails the competitive types in this group sail and are successful with. Yea....I know that my skippering skills are more than half the equation but I'm thinking my 155 is contributing to my inability to point higher. Thoughts??

I have a 130 on my boat and it is great for cruising, I typically wouldn?t want anything larger. For racing in our area, I would think you would need the standard jib sail, a 100 as well as a 130 for the variable racing conditions.
