We have an asymmetrical spinnaker on our 320.  Absolutely love it.
We attach it to the forward cleat (up up the anchor locker) using the "tail" on the spinnaker itself.  On ours (Catalina original), they have a 5' piece of line (1/2" diameter +/-) spliced on the tack corner ring.   For the sheet, we usually move the genoa car all the way aft, and use that for the spinnaker sheet.   It probably might be best to use a regular spinnaker block connected to the shackle at the aft corner, way back under the pushpit seats.
We haven't used a spinnaker pole with this (yet), but we bought one this winter.  A pole would be handy to hold the sail out in very very light winds.
We find that we have to be a bit "off of dead downwind" in order for it to draw properly.  Does not work well dead downwind.  When we are between 60* of wind to 150/160* of light wind, it works very very nicely.

 To all,

I just installed my new sails (main and genoa) yesterday, and now it is time to think about an asymmetrical spinnaker. The very knowledgeable salesperson who helped me with the sails talked about an issue with mounting blocks on the stern for the spinnaker sheets. This leaves me to wonder, does anyone else have an asymmetrical set-up? If so, what did you use as your mounting point on the bow and on the stern? Also, for anyone on the Chesapeake Bay, any thoughts on using an asymmetrical spinnaker is also welcome. I reduced my genoa from 155% to 140%, in accordance with some discussions about balance, so I think the asym spin would help in those light winds.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff
