Greetings all. We purchased a 1994 320 about a month ago. The survey and
sea trial went fine no wind so motored out and motored back. A week later
we went out again no wind again but a three hour cruise on the engine.
Three days ago went made the marina move, two 8hr days motoring. At our
first nights stop dropped the RPMs and the engine started smoking bad.
Bluish smoke all the way down to idle .Next morning engine starts good
sounds good, a little smoke but clears up as RPMs go up ran good all day at
2400 RPM. Made it to our home port dropped RPMs smoked again. Before the
trip I added a can of SeaFoam to the full twenty gallon tank. Fuel from the
previous owner. We added 5 gals fresh along the way. We had the engine up
to temp twice before the trip and no smoke. I've never had an issue with
using SeaFoam. Could the previous owner added something also? OR valve
guide rings etc? Any thoughts??
Doug
