Thank you for the advice.

Yes, I've added a couple blocks in the past.

Garhauer Marine has them.  Call them, tell them you have a Catalina 320 and they'll send you the right blocks.  There is a nut that slides into one of the matching channels and the stud screws down into it.

Important Tips:

- Coat the nut, stud & threads with Tef-Gel anti-corrosion grease before installing it.  Without this, the nut or the threads could corrode and require removing the mast and mast step  plate in order to service the blocks.

- Turn the stud/block until you feel that you're at the end of the threads, then unscrew it one full turn.  You have to have it loose enough in the nut that it will pivot easily or the block could bend under load.

- Every few years, unscrew each block, dab a little Tef-Gel on the threads and reinstall.  If you loosen the lines, you can simply untwist the blocks and then twist them back in the same number of turns, you won't have to pull any lines back through.  That makes it pretty easy to do.

- Periodically, just make sure that each block will turn and that the stud isn't corroding to the mast step.

Cheers!
-Jeff

Subject: [C320-list] Mast step mounted blocks

Has anyone added or removed a block to the mast step mount? From what I see there is a space under the mount for a nut that a stud would thread into?
