Allen We close the thru hull to avoid the air lock issue when sailing. Admittedly it’s a pain to tear apart the aft berth to to this, but we prefer to stay out of marinas when we cruise so it's really not a big hassle. In general access to thru hulls is my biggest complaint about the 320, but it’s really not that bad. Troy Dunn Hull#514
