[C320-list] Which Racor Filter?

I stand corrected….

I checked with a Racor Rep. yesterday and the R15P (30micron) and the R15T (10micron) have the exact same flow rate.
Contrary to the advice I was given at the strictly sail show last year, there dosn’t seem to be any benefit to the fuel pump by running the 30 micron filter. Racor also states on their web site that the 10 micron filter does a better job at separating water out of the system than the 30. Guess I’ll be switching back to the R15T before I splash the boat next spring.

Wish I had researched the advice I was given before installing the R15P last week. Oh well, its thirty buck burned on the wrong filter and no harm done. Live and learn….its a boat and it seems the learning never ends.

On the Catalina Direct site today, I came across their listing for a Raycor R15T, which filters to 10 microns. Catalina Direct's description for the R15T includes this language:

For example, there is what appears to be the same filter that only filters down to 30 microns. It leaves particles in the fuel that are too big and may clog the engine's filter. Another version filters to only 2 microns. This is filtering particles from the fuel that are so small it may clog almost immediately, leaving you without power soon after replacement.”
