[C320-list] Ground tackle

I’m lucky in western Florida that anchorages are so shallow. The usual depth is seven to 10 feet. (You have to go miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico to find 30 feet of depth.)

I’m pulling up maybe 40 or 45 pounds with 35-pound anchor and 10 feet of chain. The other 20 feet of chain comes up easily when the anchor is still on the bottom.

I’m going to delay getting a new windless until my body protests. At 66, I can still do it the old-fashioned way.

Fifty feet of 5/16 chain, 15 kg Rocna + 300 feet nylon rode. In deep water
(common around here) that means we're hauling close to 100 lbs of chain and
anchor so have an oversized Maxwell windlass.
