 I replaced mine with a piece without the grooves and there is no difference.

    I am in the process of replacing the Lexan/Acrylic sliding hatch on
my 1996 Catalina 320. There are two grooves milled into the bottom
side of the Lexan running bow to stern. As far as I can see, nothing
slides into these grooves. If they truly don't go to anything I was
not going to machine them into my new panel. Any ideas to what these
grooves are there for?
