[C320-list] Secondary filter on Yanmar

I just changed mine and had no trouble getting a screwdriver in there with both the front and aft cabin engine covers removed. We have a 2000 wing keel with a Yanmar 3GM30F.

A couple of tips I learned:
Make sure you buy extra washers/gaskets that go between the connectors to the filter housing and the barbed fuel line connectors. Since you’ve got it apart putting new ones in there will keep it from leaking when you re-assemble. You might also check the condition of the fuel line hoses and replace them if they are cracked.

Be sure to fill the housing with fresh fuel before you bleed it. It will cut down on how long you have to crank the engine to bleed the lines. I open the compression levers on top of the engine so it won ’t turn over. I also keep the seawater thru-hull closed and disable the seapump belt so it’s not pumping water in to the muffler. Just be sure to return everything to its running state and open the thru-hull before starting the engine.

Raymarine specifically advise NOT to place routes and other data on the same card as your maps. Get asecond compatible card (Any good quality card up to 32GB capacity should do) and copy the relevant data to that, then insert thecard and load up the data. The process is explained in the (dowloadable from Raymarine) Operating Instruction Manual as are detailsof card requirements.Stephen CoxTegwen #1141
