[C320-list] Refrigerator Removal/Installation

I am a new C-320 owner and am working to replace my refrigerator over this
winter offseason. I have a question for those that have performed the
installation yourself.  When removing the old unit, did you need to have
the refrigerant removed before disconnecting the condenser from the
evaporator?  I believe the existing unit is original to the boat, which is
a 1999 model year.
