[C320-list] Saloon table

David,

I too had problems with the table pedestal which was extremely stiff and prone to getting jammed in one position or other. Last summer I removed it from the boat and took it apart. There’s very little inside - just a gas-filled strut which was working ok, but what I found was that there is an inner white nylon sleeve that grips the telescoping upper column and this seemed to have shrunk (or expanded?) such that it made it very difficult for the upper column to move. I spent some time sanding the inside of this sleeve to open it up a little and eventually got the pedestal working again. Even so, it’s important to press down on the table directly above the pedestal - not off-centre at all, otherwise it won’t retract.

I have some pictures of the pedestal inside if you are interested.
