Hello Scot:

I take my mast down every year. Store is on a rack completely covered for
the winter weather. The mast is 20 years old and looks brand new. Oh, and
I also do my inspections every year on all fittings, lines, hardware and
fixtures. There should be no problem disconnecting the internal wiring. At
the base of the mast the wires for the lights and the radio antenna extend
out about 10 inches and terminate in a 4 pin connector for the lights and
coax connector for the antenna. When the yard lifts the mast slightly they
can disconnect the connectors and thereafter mast is free to move away. You
just have to make sure you inform the yard. The only uncertainly is if you
have a speed and direction sensor at masthead. That wire may run all the
way down to the bilge So you may want the yard to be careful when they
begin to lift, they should look to ascertain if there is a connector for the
speedo.
